A menu driven utility “modify2” is provided in this Rgen. It will be helpful in creation of command files required to carry out a specific activity e.g., STD barring, BNP-ANNC, BNP-DISC, Restoration of STD facility providing DTMF/DECAD, del sub, meter reading etc.It can be run from any directory.
This utility can be run by any directory from IOP5x> prompt. One has to simply fill in the Dir. Nos. (Or a range of Dir Nos.) and select from the “Menu” the activity to be performed.
Features of utility
1.Meter reading option in command menu enables to get meter reading of selected Dir. Nos. on a particular date provided the formatting is done on that date and “Rgen” tool along with its script file “submtr2_2” are available in $TOOLP at /u/admn/rgen directories.
2.If DIR NOS. are already stored in a file, then one need not fill in them again, the utility can operate over the file directly as “modify .
3.Save & Exit options allows the user to save the Dir. Nos. so far extered in a file named “safe” so that he used not enter them again if required.

Procedure to run “MODIFY7” utility

IOP5x> modify2
It will display following main menu
1.Separate numbers (e.g., 71000, 71003 etc.)
2.A continuous range of Nos. (Directory Nos.)
3.Miscellaneous
4.Exit
5.Enter your option

After, entering proper option it will display following message, say entering option `1’
Enter the Directory Number :
Any more ? y/n (If want to enter more directory nos. give “y” If not give “n”) after above entries following menu will appear on screen.

Now following message will appear on screen.
The command file (say xx) has been created in /u/admn/cmdfile
Do you want to run the command file : y/n after giving “y” command file will executive and a log file will be made in /u/admn/cmdfile


How to Take Meter reading if CDR is not through

Connect Serial Port ASIO or Printer port from IOP to Serial COM port of Windows XP PC.
If using a Laptop U can use USB to Serial cable.
create a Folder in which U want to store meter reading eg: mtr folder on Windows XP desktop
In Hyper-terminal click on Transfer, then click on Receive, then browse Folder name (mtr) from Desktop, then Close

IOP5C>cd $DUMPP
IOP5C>sz nc**DDMMYY.dat (where DDMMYY stands for dateMonthYear)

The Private Class A range provides for up to 16,777,214 hosts on one network. In practice, most organizations that use the Class A range of addresses usually subnet this range of addresses into smaller sets of hosts called subnetworks (or just 'subnets' for short). Still, even with the subnetting, it makes for a conveniently large number of addresses.
The Private Class B range of IP addresses fall into 16 subnets. These were provided so that an organization could have up to 65,534 hosts on a network and have up to 16 networks.
The Private Class C range of IP addresses is designed to support 254 networks of up to 65,534 hosts.

Pin 4, 5, 7, 8 are unused. May be left blank or connected to 4, 5, 7,8 respectively.
